This is her home but the Vietnam War is encroaching upon her life quickly. This book is about this girl named Ha and knows only one person that is out of her house and his name is Saigon. Inside Out & Back Again is a story I was assigned to read about a girl named Ha who is forced to flee Saigon with her family when the Vietnam war hits close to home and has live in America with a host family from Alabama. All this is leading up to the fact that when I turned my jaded suspicion-filled toxic eyeballs on Thanhha Lai's Inside Out and Back Again I found nothing to displease me. Inside Out.jpg Every New Year brings the war closer and closer to Ha's Saigon home. Inside Out & Back Again intrigued me because it was from the perspective of a South Vietnamese refugee. In the recent National Book Award winning Inside Out and Back Again, Thanhha Lai chronicles her family's experience of immigrating to the United States from Vietnam after the fall of Saigon in 1975.
